At Built4it Ltd, we design and supply durable products intended for demanding everyday, professional and recreational use. We want customers to purchase with confidence, which is why we provide an extended 60-Day Built4it Returns Policy in addition to your statutory consumer rights.
This policy explains cancellations, change-of-mind returns, refunds, faulty-product claims, warranties, exchanges and delivery-charge refunds.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces any statutory rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible at cs@built4it.co.uk, quoting your order number.
If the order has not yet entered dispatch processing, we will normally cancel it and refund the amount paid using your original payment method.
If an order has already been packed, collected or entered the courier network, we may no longer be able to stop the parcel in transit. This does not remove any statutory cancellation right that applies. We may instead ask you to refuse delivery or return the goods after they arrive.
A consumer may communicate a statutory cancellation by any clear statement confirming their decision to cancel. Use of our cancellation form is optional.
For most goods purchased online by consumers, you have the legal right to cancel the contract without giving a reason.
The statutory cancellation period normally ends 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, receives the goods.
If one order contains multiple goods delivered separately, the statutory cancellation period will normally run from receipt of the final item forming part of that order.
To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to cancel before the applicable cancellation period expires.
Once you have notified us of a statutory cancellation, you must return the goods without undue delay and normally no later than 14 days after the day on which you informed us of your decision to cancel.
Because we have confidence in our products, Built4it voluntarily extends the change-of-mind return-request period to 60 days after delivery for eligible consumer purchases.
This additional Built4it return period operates alongside your statutory rights and does not replace them.
During days 15 to 60 after delivery, the extended Built4it return is a voluntary contractual benefit and is subject to the conditions in this policy.
To request a return, contact cs@built4it.co.uk within 60 days after delivery and provide:
Once an extended return has been authorised, the goods should be sent back promptly and normally within 14 days of receiving our return instructions.
During the statutory cancellation period, you may inspect and handle goods only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and operation, broadly equivalent to the inspection you would reasonably be permitted to make in a physical shop.
Returned products should include, where reasonably applicable:
Where handling during the statutory cancellation period has gone beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods and has reduced their value, Built4it may make a lawful deduction from the refund to reflect that reduction in value.
For returns made under Built4it's voluntary extended period after the statutory cancellation period has expired, the product must ordinarily be returned complete, clean, undamaged, unmodified and in a condition reasonably suitable for resale, subject to reasonable inspection.
The 60-day extended returns period is a return facility and should not be interpreted as a 60-day unrestricted product trial.
Built4it does not charge an automatic restocking fee.
Unless Built4it agrees otherwise, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods that are unwanted, unsuitable or ordered by mistake.
We recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured postal service because the sender remains responsible for ensuring the returned parcel reaches us safely.
Please contact us before posting a return so that we can provide the correct return instructions and return address.
Contacting us for return instructions does not restrict your statutory right to cancel by providing a clear statement within the applicable cancellation period.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, we will refund:
If you selected a more expensive enhanced, express, premium or next-day delivery option, we are not normally required to refund the additional amount above the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option when you simply change your mind.
For goods being returned following statutory cancellation, we may withhold reimbursement until:
whichever occurs first.
Required refunds will be made without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law, normally no later than 14 days after receiving the returned goods or satisfactory evidence that they have been returned.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
Once Built4it has issued a refund, your bank, card issuer or payment provider may require additional processing time before the funds appear in your account.
Statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights may not apply where a lawful exception exists, including certain:
An item will not be treated as non-returnable merely because it is a sale item, accessory, replacement component or promotional product.
Any lawful exclusion will depend upon the particular product and circumstances.
These exclusions do not remove your rights where goods are faulty, damaged when supplied, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
Goods supplied by Built4it must comply with applicable consumer law, including requirements relating to satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and conformity with their description.
If you believe a product is faulty, damaged when supplied, incomplete, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, please contact cs@built4it.co.uk and provide:
Providing photographs or video can often allow us to resolve a problem quickly and may avoid unnecessary return postage. It does not remove any statutory remedy available to you.
During the first 30 days, qualifying faulty goods may be subject to the statutory short-term right to reject for a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
After the initial 30-day period, a consumer may ordinarily be entitled to an appropriate repair or replacement where the statutory requirements are met.
If repair or replacement is impossible, unsuccessful, cannot be provided within a reasonable time, or would cause significant inconvenience, further statutory remedies may apply, including a price reduction or final right to reject.
Built4it will meet reasonable return or collection costs where required by law for goods that are faulty, damaged when supplied, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
We may reasonably inspect or test a returned product before confirming the appropriate remedy.
Built4it warranties do not cover damage or failure caused solely by matters such as:
Nothing in this section removes a statutory remedy where goods failed to conform to the contract when supplied.
Selected Built4it products are supplied with an additional commercial warranty for the period stated on the relevant product page, packaging or warranty documentation.
Built4it holders currently carry warranty periods of up to 7 years, depending upon the particular model.
The warranty applicable to your product is the warranty expressly advertised for that product at the time of purchase.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a Built4it commercial warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship arising during normal and appropriate use.
Where a valid commercial warranty claim is accepted, Built4it may provide an appropriate:
Electronic components and electrical accessories may have a shorter commercial warranty than the main mechanical structure. Unless a product page states otherwise, embedded electronics, wireless-charging components and Bluetooth remote controls are normally covered against manufacturing defects for 12 months.
A Built4it commercial warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not replace, restrict or reduce them.
Where a free, discounted or promotional product is supplied because another qualifying product was purchased, the promotional product forms part of the overall promotional transaction.
If the qualifying product is returned for a change-of-mind refund, any free or promotional item supplied specifically as part of that offer should normally also be returned.
Where a promotional item that formed part of the transaction is not returned, or is returned damaged beyond reasonable inspection, Built4it may make an appropriate deduction where permitted by law and where the terms of the promotion allow it.
This section does not affect statutory rights where either the qualifying product or promotional item is faulty.
Our delivery services, dispatch times and estimated delivery periods are described in our Shipping Policy and at checkout.
Unless expressly described as a guaranteed delivery service, dispatch dates and delivery timeframes are estimates rather than guarantees.
Enhanced, express or priority delivery services remain subject to any dispatch cut-off times, working-day restrictions and service conditions clearly stated at the time of purchase.
Where an enhanced delivery service was expressly sold as guaranteed and the agreed service was not provided, we will provide any refund or other remedy required by the applicable service terms and UK consumer law.
Where a delivery timeframe was clearly stated only as an estimate, missing that estimate does not automatically mean that the complete delivery charge becomes refundable.
When considering a delivery-service complaint, relevant circumstances may include:
Nothing in this section limits any statutory remedy where an agreed delivery date was essential, where goods were not delivered within an applicable contractual or statutory period, or where Built4it otherwise failed to fulfil the delivery contract.
If tracking indicates that a parcel is delayed, missing or delivered but you cannot locate it, please contact us promptly.
Before reporting a parcel as missing, please check:
Built4it will investigate the shipment with the relevant delivery provider.
Where consumer law applies, responsibility for the goods normally remains with Built4it until the goods come into the physical possession of you, or another person identified by you to take possession of them, except in circumstances where the law provides otherwise.
If the goods have not been properly delivered, Built4it will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.
Where available, Built4it may offer an exchange as an alternative to a refund.
Exchanges are subject to product availability.
If the replacement product has a different selling price, any difference may need to be paid or refunded as appropriate.
Accepting an exchange does not remove any statutory rights that continue to apply.
We may request reasonable evidence that a product was purchased from Built4it, such as:
Statutory consumer cancellation rights apply to individuals who meet the legal definition of a consumer.
Where products are purchased wholly or mainly for business, trade, craft or professional purposes, different legal rights may apply.
Built4it may nevertheless agree commercial returns, exchanges or warranty assistance for business customers in accordance with the applicable product warranty, our Terms of Service or another agreement made with the customer.
Built4it is a small independent UK business and we aim to resolve genuine customer problems reasonably and efficiently.
We may occasionally provide a complimentary replacement part, accessory, discount, partial refund, upgraded replacement or other goodwill gesture where we consider this appropriate.
A discretionary goodwill gesture:
